THE BLACK HOLE

“Black Hole” Bullet Trap Model  

This came about after we successfully stopped the .50 BMG round.We wanted to see if we could find the limits of our bullet stopping capability. Our first test was, Bullet Trap vs. the 25mm. cannon. These were 2000 grain projectiles carrying a base full of magnesium, which is used to create a tracer round. The magnesium in in these rounds burns at several thousand degrees and has a burning time of 30-50 seconds. Also, a 2000 grain bullet at 3500 feet per second develops around 54,000 ft/lbs of energy. Our Black Hole Model stopped all ten rounds that were shot at it and used only 60% of its stopping capability. The next stop for the Black Hole is the 30mm cannon, We’ll let you know how it did as soon as the tests are done.
